Provenance: Inscribed on front endpaper: "M S McGregor / Cambewarra". Mary Susan McGregor (1850-1927) was the eldest daughter of Jessie and Robert Thorburn. She married Roderick Macgregor in 1868. He was the teacher at Cambewarra Public School from 1874 to 1886 and farmed as well, from 1888 at Torrisdale at the foot of Mt Cambewarra in the Shoalhaven district of New South Wales. Around 1916 the Macgregors retired from farming and built a cottage, which they called Kintore, on part of the land associated with the house Meroogal at Nowra. Meroogal had been built in 1886 as a home for Mary Susan's widowed mother.
The book is part of the collection of the McKenzie/Thorburn family of Meroogal (M87/10).
