After the publisher's information: Of whom may be had by the same Author Le routour desire a sonata ded: to Mrs. d'Arblay.
Mrs d'Arblay is the novelist Frances Burney. Fanny (Frances) Burney, the author, was Cecilia's aunt through her sister Esther. Cecilia was the daughter of Charles Rousseau Burney and granddaughter and grandniece of Charles Burney (musician and composer). Some sources give 1788 as year of Cecilia's birth.
Running title: Miss C. Burney op:2.
BL has dated their score using the watermark date 1810.
There are a large number of scores in the Margaret Hazlitt volume published by G. Walker at 106 or 105 and 106 Great Portland Street. The publisher was at that address until 1822, this means that most of the scores in this volume were published before 1822.
Most of the scores in the Miss Margaret Hazlitt volume of music have watermarks in the paper dating from 1811-1817. It is probable that the scores were published between 1811 and 1822. Margaret Hazlitt also wrote her name and 1817 on a number of scores in this volume.
