Bound in the Emily F. Horne volume of songs and music, circa 1830-1860.

Emily Frances Horne (1844-1921) was born in Singleton, NSW. She was the daughter of convict-turned constable Samuel Henry Horne, after whom the Sydney suburb 'Hornsby' was named. Some of the sheet music in Emily's collection is inscribed 'Sydney 1860' and may have been acquired on a visit to town or associated with her schooling. In 1870, she married a German-born grocer Henry Ohmsen (1844-1878) who it was reported in her obituary had been a 'fine tenor singer and a well-known figure in local musical circles'.

Dating: In 1830 Alexander Lee had a music shop in the Quadrant, he also took over the lease of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1830 but had left by 1831. Lee was also composing for New Theatre Royal English Opera House (Lyceum) in 1830s. Musical Bouquet has Lee at the 59 Frith Street, Soho address in 1836. The Literary Gazette 1834, in it's "Just published" section cites Alexander Lee's I'll not throw away the flower as sung by Mr. Millar. Hence dating definitely between 1830-1836. Henry Lee at 59 Frith Street 1836-1840 (Parkinson).
