Bound in the Emily F. Horne volume of songs and music, circa 1830-1860.
Owner bound volume.
Emily Frances Horne (1844-1921) was born in Singleton, NSW. She was the daughter of convict-turned constable Samuel Henry Horne, after whom the Sydney suburb 'Hornsby' was named. Some of the sheet music in Emily's collection is inscribed 'Sydney 1860' and may have been acquired on a visit to town or associated with her schooling. In 1870, she married a German-born grocer Henry Ohmsen (1844-1878) who it was reported in her obituary had been a 'fine tenor singer and a well-known figure in local musical circles'.

Dating: British Library - 1834. The Mountain Sylph was performed in 1834. Miss Emma Romer performed in The Mountain Sylph in 1834. Parkinson has William Hawes at 355 Strand between 1830 and 1846.
