Advertisements for Austin's artificial stone appear under the style 'J. Seeley (late Austin and Seeley)' in English newspapers from 1852-1853. On 5 August 1856 a notice in The Globe declares: Austin's artificial stone. Ornamental work for gardens continues to be executed in this material by Mr Austin's late partner, Mr John Seeley, at the original works, 1 to 4, Keppel Row, New Road, Regent's Park. N.B. Austin's artificial stone has now been extensively used by the nobility for more than 20 years, both in Scotland and England ...
