The words '"Rick" Hopkins to A.E. Hopkins' can be made out, written in pen and ink on the front cover. [Patrick Hill Throsby married Elizabeth Ann Hopkins of Benares, Illawarra in 1864. In 1884, after her death, he married Harriet Hopkins, her sister.]
