Dating: After 1811 based on the paper watermark, but more likely after 1813 and prior to 1820. The dating evidence is based on the dates for Hutton & Balbirnie only being at 105 High Street, Edinburgh between 1813-1820.

Bound in 'Lucy Havens, volume of songs and music, circa 1798-1825' in the Caroline Simpson Library collection.
Lucy Havens (1804-1867) was born in Monimail, Fife in Scotland, she then moved to Whitehaven, Cumberland in the north of England. She immigrated to Sydney with her family in 1839. She married a former convict and successful business man Thomas Hyndes in 1850. She remarried Scottish Presbyterian minister William Purves. She lived in The Rocks in Sydney.

There is little information on William Frederick Browne as a musician. His title is 'Musician 6th, or Inniskilling regiment of dragoons'. Second Captain William Browne fought in the Battle of Waterloo. York's Army Museum published information for the 200th anniversary of Waterloo about Captain Browne. This same article mentions his brother-in-law Sir H. Hamilton. William F. Browne was born in Launton, Bedfordshire England. He married Margaret Martha Dalrymple-Hamilton. They lived in North Berwick, Scotland. [This information needs to be verified].
