Description:
Inversnaid, in Gilliver Avenue Vaucluse near the intersection with Fisher Avenue, was built around 1914 for Alexander Robert Macgregor (1872-1933) and his wife Eve. It was among the first houses to be built in Gilliver Avenue and remained the Macgregor home until around 1928. Tenders notices identify the architects as Kent, Budden & Greenwell and the builders as Poulton & Warren (Construction, 5 August 1913 p.1). It seems likely that the actual design may be attributed to Carlyle Greenwell (1884-1961 (Scott Brandon Smith, May 2017).
Photograph dated from index entry in album of Robert Barnet's negatives in which Barnet lists the negative as 'Uncle Alec's new home, March 1914'.
