Description:
The wedding of Mr Charles Alfred Jaques and Carla Vera Dibbs, widow of Captain Owen Dibbs, took place at St John's Church, Darlinghurst, Sydney, in October 1919. The Sydney press reported that "the wedding dress was a recently arrived Paris evening model of supple oxidised silver tissue" with a skirt (jupe) with "front panels and side drapes of d'argent dentelle while the corsage consisted of a simple deep band of tissue, with sleeves of silver tulle held by shoulder straps of tiny silver roses". The hat was of fine silver tulle, wreathed with silver roses.
