Description:
Margaret Hannah Thorburn (1862-1886) was the sixth of seven daughters of Jessie Catherine Thorburn, nee McKenzie, (1824-1916) and her husband Robert Thorburn (1820-1869), born in the Shoalhaven district of New South Wales. In 1884 Margaret married a schoolteacher named Thomas Stafford, and they went to live at Wallerawang where Thomas was in charge of the school. Margaret died there, aged 24, after the birth of her second son.
