Description:
This photograph was taken by a Sydney studio called Smiling Snaps in Piccadilly Arcade, a studio known for street photography. The photograph may depict Walford and friend at the Sydney premiere of the Twentieth Century Fox film 'Kangaroo', which took place at the Regent Theatre with proceeds going to the Red Cross. The film, made in technicolour and starring Peter Lawford and Maureen O'Hara, received mixed reviews around Australia. The Sydney Morning Herald judged it to be "a mediocre Western melodrama".
