Sainty family.
Description:
This house, designed by architect Oliver Harley (1854-1921), was built in 1914 for Warrawee orchardist, builder and landlord, Joseph Sainty (1863-1953). Harley called tenders for the erection of a residence in Eastern Road Turramurra in early February 1914 and later that month gave the contract to A. Carlson. (Sydney Morning Herald 3 February 1914; NSW Contract Reporter 24 Feb 1914)
The house was built on the south side of Eastern Road, on the corner of Sainty's Lane (now Laurence Street).
