Kintore (Nowra, N.S.W.)
Series:
June Wallace papers
Description:
Kintore was a cottage in Worrigee Street, Nowra, built in 1916 next door to Meroogal on the former Meroogal horse paddock. It was built for Roderick Macgregor and his wife and Mary Susan (nee Thorburn), who had relocated from the Macgregor family home Torrisdale at Cambewarra to give Elgin Macgregor, their youngest daughter, a wider social circle. This view depicts the sitting room/lounge room at Kintore arranged in an arts and crafts style with a metamorphic library chair drawn up to the piano. Kintore was furnished with items brought from their old home. Roderick Macgregor was a scholarly man and the library chair came from Torrisdale and was probably used in his library there.
