This view of Johnston Street shows the North Annandale Hotel on the corner of Johnstone and Booth Streets in the centre left of the photograph, with the Hunter Baillie Memorial Church in course of erection on the corner of Collins Street. In the middle of the picture are two horse-drawn carts and on the right hand edge can be seen a dog watching the photographer.
