Nos. 286 and 288 Queen Street, Campbelltown, are part of a group of buildings classified by the NSW Environment & Heritage Office as the Queen Street Buildings Group (284-298 Queen Street), significant as representing one of the very few relatively intact Georgian style townscapes in NSW. In 1963 buildings from the Queen Street group were among the first buildings to be acquired and restored by the newly-established NSW State Planning Authority for the purpose of conserving the state's environmental heritage.
