Description:
In mid-1919 the Nowra Public School was converted into a temporary hospital in response to the outbreak of pneumonic influenza in Nowra. It admitted its first patients on 30 June. The temporary hospital closed on 1 August. Nurse Helen Macgregor from Kintore, the Macgregor family home next to Meroogal, worked at the temporary hospital during this time.
