Part of an archive of forensic photography created between 1912 and 1964. This image is one of a series of 15 negatives contained in box no. 1006-1020, three of which negatives relate to an accident in which a woman drowned when a car in which she was a passenger was accidentally driven into the river off a punt causeway on a wet evening and conditions poor visibility.
This view, taken from the Rhodes side of the river looks across the water towards Meadowbank, with the now demolished historic house Hellenie sheltered by tall conifers and Bowden Street curving away uphill from the punt crossing.
