The June 1923 Sydney Polo Club Gymkhana was held at the Kensington polo grounds. The one ladies' event was the Ladies Bending Race in which Dora Walford came second.

A closely related image was published in The Sun (Sydney) 30 June 1923 p.1, under the caption "A winsome competitor: one of the lady riders who took part in the gymkhana yesterday at Kensington. Note the superb swerve of the horse". Another related image, from the same event, was published in the September 1923 issue of The Home (p.15)
